To mark our twenty-fifth year of creating superlative products for skin, hair and body, we have launched our new Australian flagship space in Melbourne's city centre, on Collins Street.
Aesop's creative team, working with Melbourne-based Kerstin Thompson Architects, have created a space that whispers to an epoch of old-world gentlemen's clubs – a nod to the historic Athenaeum Club located next door – while speaking directly to the discerning clientele of the city.
The store's interior is striking in its masculine elegance; an imposing leather curtain sweeps from the front to the rear, accented by brass cabinets, blackened steel and copper fixtures, and goat hair carpet, threading together the collaborative conception of gentlemanly grandeur.
A purpose-built, mirrored bureau will serve as the space where consultants will introduce customers to Aesop's full offering of skin, hair and body care formulations and demonstrate how each product best complements an intelligently considered routine of self-maintenance.
The store is our twenty-second Australian signature space, launched symbolically in our twenty-fifth year. As Aesop evolves – new stores will open this year in Geneva, Paris, London, New York and Tokyo – meticulously considered and sophisticated design remain elements paramount to the creation of each space, integral to the philosophy of Aesop and to our distinctive retail approach.
