Aesop Spalenberg

Our second signature store in Switzerland is housed in Spalenberg, a Basel street known for its eclectic charm, sophistication and maturity.

Spalenberg hosts intriguing providores, theatres, furniture makers and galleries. The presence of the original Erfolg store appeals to us, as does our proximity to Wanner- Weihnachtsladen, the Christmas decoration store that supplies the Queen, the Pope and the Clintons. We may hunt here for baubles ourselves.

The building Aesop occupies dates back to the fourteenth century and survived the Basel earthquake of 1356 with its two neighbours. As one would imagine, we treated the site with due respect, fitting our store out with careful consideration for its origins. This carefully crafted store stocks the entire range of Aesop skin, hair and body products.

We are pleased to open a store in a city whose previous residents have included Hermann Hesse and Friedrich Nietzsche, and which boasts one of our favourite musuems, the Fondation Beyeler.
